Can't wait for the rain!Aug 25, 2010 I've wanted a cute pair of rain boots for a really long time, but hadn't found any that were unique and in my budget... until now! (Call me crazy, but I'm not one of those women that will spend my whole pay check on shoes.) I found these and instantly fell in love. They are SO unique. I waited anxiously until they arrived and I was thrilled with what I received. Granted, it is August in Ohio, so not exactly rain boot weather just yet... but these are exactly what I was looking for. They appear to be of very good quality. I normally wear a 9 1/2, so generally end up ordering a size 10 in most boots, due to a common lack of half sizes at that point. These seem a little bit big, but I worry a size 9 pair would have been too small. I just plan to wear thick socks or perhaps get a nice cushioned sole insert and hope for the best. They are a little weighty, but I think that's due to their quality. I'm really looking forward to wearing them out.
Skinny calf girls beware... These are the typical ~15" circumference at their smallest. Even with them tightened down with the adjustable buckle, I swim in them with my 13" calves. Looking at the bright side, there is plenty of room to tuck in your jeans with these... No skinny jeans required.
Note: Another reviewer commented on these being short for rain boots. Please note that Chooka sells this pattern in two styles. The rain boot which is of standard height (I'm 5'10" and these hit a few inches below by knee) and their "rain pups" that are only about 10" tall and have a flat sole/tread. I ordered these expecting rain boots and that is exactly what I got.
Wow, Where did you get those?!Jul 10, 2010 I absolutely love my boots! Cute style, great fit, awesome price! I got sooo many compliments from people and I will definitely purchase more styles :-)
Wide Feet Women Beware!Jul 09, 2010 The boots are super cute! The design is definitely unique. There is cloth on the inside and the insoles are comfortable. It is also made of natural rubber which is definitely a plus for eco-friendly people like myself BUT my foot died when I tried them on. I have wide feet and these boots are definitely not made for wide feet people. I will be returning them immediately in hopes of finding a boot that will accomodate my foot. I wish my foot wasn't so wide because I have never seen boots like these but I am not sacrificing comfort for fashion. =/
Stops traffic! :)Jun 14, 2010 I love my Chooka's! I have wide feet so they fit a little narrow in the toe box, but it's not too bad. I've gotten tons of compliments on them for the design. The only thing I don't like is the smell. They have a very strong rubber smell, which makes sense because they are made of rubber. I just put 4-5 chunks of charcoal in a nylon and dropped them into my boots when I'm not wearing them and it seems to help. I'd recommend finding a pair of Chooka's at a store to see how they fit, but many of their styles are only available online.
